Star Bomber Jake Stringer says he is looking forward to having his two daughters by his side as he runs onto the MCG for his 100th game on Saturday.

Stringer said it would be “magical” to share the occasion as the Bombers face Richmond in the traditional Dreamtime at the G fixture.

“My kids Milla and Arlo, they haven’t been able to watch me play this year, so fingers crossed I can run out with them on Saturday night and have a very special moment with them,” Stringer said on Tuesday.

“It means the world to me to have your two daughters there – they’re my whole world – so to have them there and to be able to run out with them, give them a hug and a kiss and spend some time with them after the game will be pretty magical for me.”

The former Bulldog joined Essendon this season and said it was important to immediately gain the respect of his new teammates.

“Coming in here I knew that I was going to put my head down and work hard and it was just about getting the respect of the players and I think I’ve done that,” he said.

“I’ll continue to do that by working hard and continually putting the team first in my performance.

“It’s obviously hard moving teams, but in saying that, Essendon and the boys made it a really smooth transition for me”

After a tumultuous period before arriving at The Hangar, Stringer said he had “grown up a little bit” and has rediscovered his love for the game.

"Everyone goes through their struggles in their life. I've had mine, but I feel like I'm in a good place now and I think it's starting to show on the footy field.

"I'm starting to really enjoy my footy again, which is something I've probably missed over the last couple of years.

"You've got to be able to play under adversity, and there was probably a year or two where I wasn't very good at it.

“I just seem to be really enjoying my footy at the minute and I think a fresh start was good for me.”

Stringer said he was confident the Bombers could turn their form around in recent weeks and put his finger on what was behind the side’s form slump.

“I think the whole team was probably just trying to feel each other out,” he said.

“We were working so hard (for) the whole pre-season and then we probably just needed to relax a little bit and just find our roles.

“You know that if you can put one or two good performances through, you can really get good momentum through that.

“And I’ve been pretty positive through the whole time that it will turn around and when it does it will be pretty exciting for us.”

Fans are encouraged to be in their seat by 6:30pm on Saturday to ensure not to miss the exciting pre-game entertainment at Dreamtime at the G.
