Essendon’s Take Off Program has announced the Major Cash Draw winner of its Take Off Program Platinum Promotion, with local nurse and bombers faithful Kath winning $10,000 cash.

This program supports the Club's Our Fabric Bombers Foundation, established to generate sustainable income for strategic investments aligned to the four key pillars of the foundation - Our Premierships, Our Heartland, Our Heritage, and Our Community.

The introduction of our Take Off Program provided our valued network of supporters with an optional platform to further their contributions to the club through tax-deductible donations. Those who purchased a Platinum Package were automatically entered into the Take Off Program Platinum Promotion giving them the chance to win cash prizes up to $13,000.

As a longstanding supporter of the Club, Kath, was thrilled to receive her prize from the Major Cash Draw, drawn on Friday the 28^th of August.

“When I heard I had won, I was a bit shocked and couldn’t actually believe it,” Kath said.

“It took a while to sink in, but I still feel very lucky to have won the major draw.”

Kath has supported Essendon since childhood, maintaining her connection to the Club while growing up in New South Wales and later moving across Australia through her career as a nurse.

While the cash prize initially caught her attention, Kath said learning more about the impact of the Take Off Program gave her another reason to contribute.

“I looked into what the Take Off Program was actually about and I knew that my donation would make a great impact,” she said.

“It’s nice to know there is a way of supporting Essendon in their development and programs other than supporting them from the sideline.”

Having previously worked in remote Northern Territory communities, including visiting the Tiwi community, Kath said the Foundation's community work was particularly meaningful to her.

“I saw how important AFL was to the Aboriginal kids in the communities,” she said.

“I know Essendon’s support of the Tiwi community will make lifelong impacts.”

Kath encouraged other supporters considering getting involved in future Take Off Program promotions to do so.

“It always feels great donating to a good cause, the program supports great initiatives and, hey, you’ve got an opportunity to win yourself a bit of cash!”
