El Chaston has earned a third consecutive Essendon Best and Fairest, sharing the crown with longtime VFLW stalwart Ashlea Melnikas.

It’s the first time Melnikas has broken through to take the top honour after an incredibly consistent run with the Dons, including multiple podium finishes in recent seasons.

The former Roo notched up her 100th VFLW game this year to put her among esteemed company in the competition.

For Chaston, a brilliant tenure as skipper has continued – three B&F wins in a row to cap off a season that held Victorian representation and a squad nod in the VFLW Team of the Year.

The duo also added to their personal cabinets on the night, with Best Club Person for Chaston and Don of the Year for Melnikas.

Lily Bateman joined Chaston in being nominated for that Team of the Year squad and finished Runner Up in the Club count. Going from strength to strength in just her third year, Bateman is shaping up to be one to watch in future.

Talented youngster Jemma Reynolds took home the Rising Star after an impressive first campaign in the colours.

Tia Davidge and Christina Bernardi shared the Leading Goalkicker award, while Maggie O’Connell was named Volunteer of the Year for her work documenting the team throughout the year.
