Essendon Football Club has today unveiled its 2019 design for the commemorative Anzac Day guernsey, honouring the service and sacrifice of Australian men and women who served in the armed forces.

The guernsey will be worn in the traditional Anzac Day blockbuster against Collingwood at the MCG in round six, which will also mark the game's 25th anniversary.

The club revealed it will wear a thin red slash, resembling what the Bombers wore in 1918, to commemorate 100 years since the end of WWI.

The symbolic red sash is made up of poppies to represent the fallen soldiers that played for Essendon.

On the right chest, across the sash, is the official Anzac Appeal logo and the words ‘Lest We Forget’ will feature across the back of the guernsey.

All match-worn jumpers will be auctioned online with all proceeds to be donated to the Anzac Appeal.
