Six Bombers have featured in round three’s AFLCA Coaches votes following Essendon’s thrilling victory over Melbourne at the MCG on Friday night.

New recruit Dylan Shiel topped the group with nine votes after a breakthrough performance in the red and black where he gathered 31 disposals, 13 contested possessions, eight inside 50s and five clearances.

The club’s most experienced player David Zaharakis was next on the leaderboard with seven votes for his impressive effort in the 18-point win. He racked up 31 disposals, 16 contested possessions, seven clearances and five inside 50s.

Skipper Dyson Heppell was also rewarded after leading the way from the front on Friday with 27 disposals, 14 contested possessions, five clearances, five inside 50s and two goal assists.

Young midfielder Darcy Parish (24 disposals, 14 contested possessions, seven clearances and six inside 50s) received three votes, while Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti (14 disposals and four goals) and Orazio Fantasia (21 disposals, 10 marks, four inside 50s and two goals) were given one vote each.
