Essendon key position prospect, Scott Gumbleton, has injured his shoulder/collar bone in Bendigo's win against reigning VFL premier, Geelong, this afternoon at Queen Elizabeth Oval (QEO) in Bendigo.

Bendigo won 15.21 (117) to 10.9 (69).

Best players for Bendigo were Weekes, Johns, Chartres, Flaherty, Holmes and Hooker.

Hooker was dangerous in attack booting four goals and Dick three.

Essendon chief operating officer, Travis Auld, said Gumbleton has been taken for scans and the club would know more about the injury on Monday.

Gumbleton was playing his second game for Bendigo this season after recovering from hamstring and knee injuries.

The 198cm pick No.2 in the 2006 national draft recently signed a new two-year contract with the club.
