Bombers esports will feature in an exhibition match against the Adelaide Crows-affiliated Legacy team at the upcoming League of Origin Tournament at Margaret Court Arena.

Starting with a play-off series between November 9 and 11 and finishing with a live event Grand Final at Margaret Court Arena on November 17, the second annual State of Origin Tournament will feature sides from New South Wales, Queensland, New Zealand and reigning champion Victoria battling it out.

Essendon will square off against Legacy in a Grand Final curtain raiser. Only one pro player will feature for each side, with the remaining four positions on each side to be filled by fans.

A competition will be run to find the fans to fill the roster for the game, with more details to be released shortly.

Essendon Chief Commercial Officer Justin Rodski said the club’s newest team is looking forward to competing on the big stage of the State of Origin Tournament.

“We are thrilled to be participating in the League of Origin event and look forward to competing against Legacy in front of a huge audience in Melbourne.

“For anyone wanting to learn more about esports, attending a live event is the perfect way to gain a better understanding of what it’s all about, particularly the game of League of Legends.”

Essendon fans can purchase tickets to the League of Origin Tournament Grand Final now from Ticketek.

The Grand Final will also be broadcast live on TwitchTV.
