Essendon will kick off the 2019 JLT Community Series against traditional rival Carlton at Ikon Park on Thursday, February 28.

The last time the two sides faced off at Ikon Park, the Bombers booted away to a 60-point thumping of the Blues in front of a sellout crowd of 18,718 fans in the 2016 pre-season competition.

The Bombers will then head to GMHBA Stadium on Thursday, March 7, for their second match of the series against the Cats.

That game will be the third-straight year Essendon has taken on Geelong in the pre-season competition as part of the Powercor Country Festival Program to further strengthen the clubs’ relationship and commitment to Australia’s rural communities.

The partnership will culminate once again in the Country Game during the 2019 home and away season, with the upcoming fourth instalment of the blockbuster set to be the biggest and best yet.
