Essendon Football Club has proudly partnered with VicHealth to provide a free and healthy beverage option for its supporters on game day.

VicHealth has installed free water fountains across all three levels of Etihad Stadium, providing Bomber fans with a healthy and money-saving way to keep hydrated at the footy.

To celebrate the new partnership the Club will be giving away 1,000 free drink bottles at Sunday’s game against the Giants.

The new initiative has been given the thumbs up by Adam Cooney and Matthew Leuenberger. The pair will be appearing on twitter, Facebook and the Etihad Stadium big screen to encourage supporters to make the most of the new healthy option.

“It’s great to have VicHealth leading by example by installing free water fountains at the footy,” Cooney said.

“We all know the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle so to have access to free drinking water is a great way to keep hydrated and the weight off.

“The water fountains are easy to find and easy to use, and best of all they won’t cost you a cent.”

VicHealth CEO, Jerril Rechter, said VicHealth hoped the water fountains, combined with Etihad Stadium’s decision to allow people to bring in their own drink bottles, would see more people drinking water at the stadium.

“We are thrilled Essendon Football Club is helping promote our free drinking fountains at Etihad Stadium and would encourage supporters to come down, get a free drink bottle on game day and fill it up from one of our water fountains,” Ms Rechter said.

“VicHealth is proud to make free water easily available at Etihad Stadium so footy fans can drink more water and experience improved health and wellbeing.”

To score a free water bottle this Sunday just visit a VicHealth water fountain located inside Etihad Stadium.
