INACCURATE BOMBERS HAMMER TIGERS
Essendon struggled with accuracy in front of goals, but was otherwise untroubled to defeat Richmond at the MCG this afternoon. A healthy crowd of 77,576 saw the Bombers dispatch the Tigers by 46 points. Essendon was excellent through midfield and had winners all over the ground, but caught the disease of inaccuracy in the first term (4.10) and never really recovered, finishing with 16.24 to Richmond’s 10.14.

The Essendon Football Club has decided its round nine match against Hawthorn should remain at Colonial Stadium and has communicated this decision to the AFL. Essendon Football Club gave serious consideration to swapping its round nine match against Hawthorn from Colonial Stadium to the MCG. However after much deliberation the club has decided that the Hawthorn match should remain at Colonial Stadium.
