The winner of the 2000 season Rebel Sport Crichton Medal will be named at a function at the Palladium Ballroom tonight.

After such a stellar season, culminating in a brilliant Grand Final win, it is hardly surprising so many players are expected to poll well this season.

James Hird, Dustin Fletcher, Joe Misiti and Matthew Lloyd are among a number of players being touted as possible winners of the prestigious award.

The Brownlow Medal is generally a good guide and James Hird polled the most votes for the Bombers at this year's count.

Hird did however miss a number of games late in the season and his teammates will have made up any lost ground during that period.

Dustin Fletcher started the season in blistering fashion while Joe Misiti came home with a rush.

It should be a fantastic night and those who are heading to the Palladium should witness a very tight finish.
