The votes are in and the following five players have been selected by the fans to sing the national anthem on Australia Day at Windy Hill before Essendon's open training session.
 
In no particular order, Essendon's fab five is: Angus Monfries, Matthew Lloyd, Mark McVeigh, Andrew Welsh and Rhys Magin. 
 
The shock top five finish of second-year player Rhys Magin is the result of one very determined fan voting MANY times for the young Queenslander.
 
Kyle Reimers finished a close 6th.
 
The day is proudly supported by Don and will feature a very Aussie theme including a thong throwing competition and a free BBQ.
 
Gates open at 9am and players and coaches will be available to sign autographs and pose for photos prior to training.
 
The Membership department will be open from 9am - 12:30pm on the day (Note: Members can collect their 2009 members caps if they present their redemption card to the membership department on the day).
 
The Bomber shop will be open from 9am – 2pm. Supporters will receive a 15% discount on all online and in-store Bomber shop purchases on the 26th of January plus a free 2008 team poster with every purchase.
 
9am - Gates Open
10:15am - Player Autographs/Photos/National Anthem (sung by five players)
10:30am - Open Training Session commences
11:15am - Open Training Session concludes
11:15am - Thong throwing competition and Q &A with assistant coaches
12:00am - Activities conclude.
 
Note: Players will only be available to sign autographs and have photos during allocated session. Immediately following training players will commence a private recovery session indoors.
