After a tough start to the year, Bendigo Bombers coach, Matthew Knights, said he was excited about his team's good recent form saying a number of important players were putting in promising performances and at least three other key players could return soon.
""Kepler Bradley and Kyle Reimers both kick four goals each for us and were good near goals,"" he said.
""Courtney Johns had his colours lowered early but fought back to play a good game. Importantly he held down centre half back for 116 minutes.""
Knights said he was very particularly impressed with the game of Adam Ramanauskas who gathered 32 possessions in around 80 minutes of football.
""What impressed me most was his delivery of the ball which has always been one of his trademarks,"" he said.
With Courtenay Dempsey, Nathan Lovett-Murray and Scott Gumbleton ready to return from injury there is plenty of pressure on Bendigo players to retain their place.
After thrilling fans with impressive on-field performances this year, it is little wonder that at the midway point of the season, Essendon has many spectacular contenders for the 2007 Toyota AFL Mark and Goal of the Year awards. Alwyn Davey is in hot contention for Goal of the Year after thrilling spectators with his exciting Anzac Day running goal, while Mark McVeigh is a chance to take out the marking category with his spectacular Round 3 grab rating highly amongst voters.
