Essendon is still to win a pre-season game after going down to the Brisbane Lions by 14 points in front of 16,591 fans at Carrara tonight. But it was a much-improved performance from the Bombers, particularly from a number of the younger players. Jason Winderlich was the standout, winning plenty of the football and running very hard.
