The result of the EFC election was officially announced at tonight’s Annual General Meeting, held at the Clocktower Centre in Moonee Ponds.
There were eight nominations for the five vacant board positions and Essendon members voted Ben Dunn, Brad Teal, Alec Epis, Pat Leggett and Daryl Jackson onto the board.
Neville Gay, who had been on the Essendon board for the past 34 years, was not returned while Frank Ford and Michael Schiavello also missed out on election.
Essendon chairman Neil McKissock was delighted to welcome Jackson onto the board.
""Different people with different ideas help drive the evolution of AFL clubs and Daryl’s addition to the board is most welcome,"" McKissock said.
""He has a great passion for Essendon having played under 19s and reserves’ football with the club. He is also a member of our Coleman Club.""
McKissock also paid tribute to Neville Gay.
""Neville has provided this club with terrific service over a long period of time and he can look back on his time on the board with great pride,"" McKissock said.
""I also want to thank Frank Ford and Michael Schiavello for their nominations. They are valued supporters of this football club and I know they will continue to be so.""
