Stanton, 24, said the Bombers attack on the ball from the opening bounce really set the tone for the rest of the match.

“It was a good start, the boys were in and under early which really set the scene and the improvement coming out of the group is amazing,” Stanton told BomberTV in the rooms after the game.

“It was a tough game last week and we worked hard on the track all week and what we worked on seemed to come to fruition.”

Stanton said a strong emphasis on tackling and pressure around the contest is providing the team with the best possible opportunity to win each week.

“It’s been a focus and our defensive pressure has been a focus over the whole pre-season and the group has really grasped that concept and ran with.”“But there is still room for improvement in that area,” he added.
