Essendon’s season of heartache has continued, after falling agonisingly short yet again, this time to the Kangaroos by seven points at the Dome. Halfway through the third quarter it looked like the mid-season break was going to be the secret ingredient to snap the Bombers losing streak, when they led by eleven points. But once again, Essendon was unable to take its chance, as the club was left to look back on another missed opportunity.
Andrew Lovett took time out before the Essendon v Geelong match to meet with a group of indigenous students from Tirkandi Inaburra, NSW, who were in Melbourne for a brief four-day visit. As part of the visit, Essendon provided tickets for the group to experience the excitement of an AFL match and the opportunity to meet one of their role models in Andrew Lovett.
