The inaugural Hume Cup competition successfullytook place at Broadmeadows Valley Primary School yesterday afternoon involvingfour primary schools from the Hume Precinct.

Essendon defender Courtenay Dempsey was on hand for the event to visit the students and present the winning teams with their trophies.

Broadmeadows PS, Broadmeadow Valley PS,Meadows PS, Cambellfield Heights PS all took part in the day, which was the finalevent of the School Centres for Teaching Excellence (SCTE) program, supportingpre-service teachers from Victoria University.

The Hume Cup was a round robin tournamentbetween the four schools, with each school fielding a football and netball teamwith the focus on participation and inclusion.

All grade 5 and 6 students were involved aseither participants or supporters throughout the day with all students in a team supplied with uniforms provided by PSW (Primary School Wear).
