Prismall was placed on the club’s long-term injury list after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in Round 19 last year.

Dell’Olio immediately made an impact in the Bombers’ Round 1 NAB Cup campaign against both West Coast and Fremantle and is now available for selection ahead of Essendon’s blockbuster clash against Carlton this weekend.

General manager of football operations Paul Hamilton said the elevation of Dell’Olio to the senior list was a result of the 22-year-old’s hard work over the pre-season campaign.

“We are pleased to confirm the promotion of Cory to the club’s senior list,” Hamilton said.

“Cory had a terrific pre-season and we were impressed with his form early in the NAB Cup campaign and as a result of his hard work, we are giving him the opportunity he deserves.

“As Brent continues to complete his rehabilitation following his knee reconstruction last year, this opportunity gives Cory the chance to play in the AFL for the period that Brent is on the long-term injury list.”

The 175cm forward was drafted to Essendon in the 2011 AFL Pre-Season and Rookie Draft after being taken at selection 29 from South Fremantle.
