Here is what some of the fans had to say:

Haggis from Cairns says: We MUST use pick 10 to get Luke Ball! We have enough ""young"" talent on the list to work with as well as another 3 picks under 40. In recent years, not all the picks in the top 10 have amounted to much except for 2 or 3 players. Ball is proven player, and we still get to choose 3 young players to develop - it's a no brainer!!

Andrew Bryce from Traynors Lagoon. Vic. says: Best player available with 1st pick; never mind what position they play. For mine another key pos,2 mids & another ruckman would compliment the list in the future.(not necessarily in that order).

Charlie from Bayswater, Victoria says: Essendon need to use their first 2 draft picks on quality midfielders. They need to get the best midfielders available at each pick. I'm hoping we can get Koby Stevens, a Joel Selwood type hard, strong midfielder and really hoping that Ryan Bastinac, another mid feilder with clean hands and foot skills, (a Scott Pendlebury type) is available when the Bombers picks come around. Happy to take Ball at pick 26 (our 3rd pick) if he's still available, but not before then. Go Bombers !!!

Damien from Box Hill says: Lets stop talking about Luke Ball. He's out of the age range for building toward success at this club, he's a bitter old player. Past his best. It disgusts me to suggest we take Luke Ball at the expence of a potential champion, we will be kicking ourselves with whoever we miss out on. Even at pick 26. A good young player in any of those positions would be great.

Jan Di Pietro from NYC says: It seems like, given the players that are due to cement their spots next year, that it would be a bad time to recruit anything BUT a midfielder. Everything else is sort of taken care of... the aging players are now those such as McVeigh, Welsh... and we may as well add some more pace after losing Lovett. Why not, right?

Nathan from Melbourne says: Definetly a mid. Pick 10: Melksham, if gone then Lucas Pick 24: Bartlett, Bastinac or Christensen Pick 26: Christensen, Thomas or Ball Pick 33: Vardy or Gawn

Martin Gol from Beaconsfield Vic says: Adrian Dodoro has done, and hopefully continues to do, an excellent job for Essendon FC. I recognise and appreciate the efforts undertaken by the list management team as they seek to draft the best talent available. Good luck Thursday. Cheers

Benn Cooper from W.A Bunbury says: Koby Stevens! would just make such a difference to the midfield. Although he is injured and alot of people wll frown at that, but he is going to be te next Joel Selwood!

Daniel from Mornington says: Hope we can land Allen Christensen with pick 24, he is a mad Bombers fan and we have always have had had gun indigenous players in our side and I hope we do in the future. Go Bombers.

Mark from Hawthorn says: Do not pick up Luke Ball, very damaged goods

Leigh from Caroline Springs says: Perhaps an experienced midfielder? With the direction AFL is heading with it's pace I think the big marking forwards are beginning to be a thing of the past. To be able to recruit and train a strong-bodied midfielder with pace [Ablett, Chapman, Judd] is priceless. As long as there is a 'forward target' like Hurley and Neagle in sights then I think mid-fielders is what Essendon need to develope.

Massimo Sedano from Eaglemont says: We certainly need an inside mid first. However we are also short on the small backs. From the outside it also looks like we really lack natural leaders.

Jayson Sidhu from Ardeer, Victoria, Australia says: I think the club should take the most talented player regardless of what position he plays. Better drafting someone with the best future potential as opposed to selecting a player based on position. Case in point is the 1984 NBA draft. Arguably one of the greatest sportsmen to live, Michael Jordan, was selected as pick number 3 as the first two teams picked tall centres based on immediate needs and not outright potential. Pick 1 was Hakeem Olajuwon who was worthy and pick 2 was Sam Bowie....Who??????

Julzzy from Victoria Australia says: Hey boys we did well in 09 very good improvement from 08 ,... we made finals but sadly we got hammered in that match, oh well forget about it,.. look ahead,.... in the draft lets pick up some good stars and some young guns,..!!! go bombers!!!

Mark from Cranbourne says: We already have enough players for every position, we just need to develop them. What we really need is a player tha has got X-FACTOR label on their head. It doesn't matter if it's ruckman, midfied, forward or backman. Cyril Rioli (Hawthorn) wasn't drafted as a midfielder, but he's a freak, especially in midfield. We need a freak player like Cyril, especially that Lovett is gone.

Will from Katunga Vic..... says: We need Bally, but dont think he will be around come our selection.Or, otherwise, a hard running, long accurate kicking mid-fielder......Must not be one sided left foot....

Steve Colakidis from Keilor downs says: A lot of comments linger on wanting a key forward. With Williams now at the club, himself, Davey & Monfries need to kick a minimum of 80goals between em, with Neagle needing to kick at least 50. Let's not forget that Gumbleton is still here & young, plus we havnt yet blooded Michael Still. We need Luke Ball, plain & simple.

Joseph Attard from Taylors Hill says: We need another midfielder. Not just another midfielder, a midfielder who has such attributes like speed, efficient and classy. Jake Melksham seems the way to go at this point in time. Wouldn't mind Kane Lucas as well.

Rhonda Sansom from Geelong Victoria says: Voting is about right- recruiters note that we don't want nor need Luke Ball- to costly-to slow-to much baggage. Recruit young-that is where our future lies.

Kane from Stratford, Victoria says: We need a strong bodied evasive inside midfielder badly.

Ross Jouvelet from Victoria says: Yeah we definately need another midfielder to help out Jobe or possibly a small goal sneak, as Leroy Jetta has turned out to be a total waste of time.
