Robert Shaw’s thoughts:
Is there anymore Adam McPhee’s out there that we can get? He has made a wonderful contribution both on and off the field. He is a true professional and a very good clubman to go along with it. He is a fine footballer and he will only get better. It is a bit scary really that he is only 20 and has only played 30 odd games. He is tough and courageous and can play on the wing and half-back and has shown he can also kick goals. In some ways we can't believe that he has landed in our club.
What some of fan’s had to say:
A very worthy winner of the most courageous player of the year award. Adam took a few games to find his form but once he did he never looked back. A brilliant young player who should have a long career at Bomberland. Helen Scully
I thought he slotted into the side beautifully. Always did the job regardless of where he lined up. The fact that he played in every match bore testimony to that. He can only get better. David Street
Good debut season with the bombers, a very good trade he was and his only 21, looking forward to what will be a big year for him. David Mitchell
Adam has proved himself as a great asset to the senior side. Looking forward to seeing him have another great season in 2004. Clinton Fisk
Added a touch of class and confidence to the team. An excellent mark and has loads of heart! Jack Vingerhoets
Recruit of the 2003 year in many a bombers eye! Great year who always puts in 100%. At 21 he plays with the maturity and consistency of a seasoned footballer. Hats off to the Essendon player management and recruiting staff to get him to the club. Oozes potential! Mark Beaton
Adam McPhee slotted beautifully into the EFC line-up of 2003, and it was by far the best recruiting move of last seasons' drafts, along with Cupido. Not much more can be said except that Adam played with extraordinary maturity, skill and composure. Well done to everyone involved in the development of Adam in 2003, and hopefully bigger and better things are ahead. Samuel Wharton
Adam had a great season with his new club. He is a very strong reliable player who seemed to fit in nicely. He showed his talent in a good side. Can expect to see great things from Adam over the years. Karole Prince
