Essendon skipper James Hird has a healthy lead in the Bomberland Player of the Year Award at the halfway mark of the season. Voting is conducted at the end of each round and users give there 3,2 and one vote for each game. The top five vote winners are then awarded votes for that particular round. After 11 rounds, Hird has topped the polling on four occasions and finished second twice to have 38 votes to this stage of the year - exactly double the tally of his nearest rival Matthew Lloyd. Lloyd has topped the voting on three occasions. Dustin Fletcher, Sean Wellman and Jason Johnson round out the top five.
