Out of contract ruckman David Hille is expected to decide over the next few days whether he will play on at Essendon next season.

List manager Adrian Dodoro said the club was awaiting a response from Hille who has been offered a contract for 2013.

“David is one of those guys that has a really good think about things and he is taking his time obviously,” Dodoro said.

“We have been in contact with David regularly and we expect him to get back to us in the next day or two with what he intends to do.”

Hille, 30, played just nine games in 2012 but impressed in round 23 against Collingwood collecting 23 disposals and 20 hit outs.

“We are hoping that he does (want to play on), as we think he has a lot of good football ahead of him and is a really fit man for a 30-year-old.”

The Bombers remain confident key forward Scott Gumbleton will be at the club next season despite interest from rival clubs during the trade period.

“Scott is in Perth at the moment just weighing up what he wants to do and I am in constant dialogue with his manager,” Dodoro said.

“His name was raised quiet a bit by a lot of clubs but our position remains the same in that he is a required player with a contract in front of him.

“No one has really come to us yet and put a firm offer to us but the coach has made it quiet clear that he would like to keep him here at the club.”
