A number of key Essendon players haveundergone post-season surgery as the Bombers attention begins to turn to the2013 season.

Essendon general manager of football PaulHamilton confirmed to Bomber TV Michael Hurley and Heath Hocking were amongthe players that have had operations since the season ended.

Hamilton said the players are now onholidays from the club until the start of the 2013 pre-season.

“The entire playing group has had theirmedicals and meetings with the coaching group so they are really clear on wherethey stand on a whole range of issues,” he said.

“Now they go enjoy their break and theywill come back and it will be a lot of hard work when they do come back.”

Hurley headlines those who have had anoperation since the end of the season after he had surgery on his wrist earlierthis week.

“He could have had it operated on duringthe season but he would have been out for six weeks so we thought lets do it atthe end of the year,” Hamilton said.

“So that surgery has been done and he hasbeen operated on so he is convalescing from that at the moment.”

Patrick Ryder, Brendan Lee and Hocking all have had operations on their shoulder in the past week.

“Heath (Hocking) has carried a little bitof a shoulder niggle most of the year and he probably aggravated it towards theend of the season,” Hamilton said.

Travis Colyer and David Hille have hadclean ups to injuries sustained during the year, Colyer on his thumb and Hille his knee.

As reported earlier in the week both Jake Carlisleand Tom Bellchambers are expected to be fit to begin pre-season training ontime despite suffering injuries late in the home and away season.
