The Essendon Football Club recognised the wonderful contribution made by all of it's volunteers at a special function held in the Hall of Fame on Monday, December 16th. Essendon has over 100 volunteers that work tirelessly all year around, helping out different departments including marketing, the Hall of Fame and the football department. Essendon chairman Graeme McMahon formally thanked the volunteers for their work throughout the season and reminded them that their contribution helps make this club what it is.
Over 80 people attended the cocktail function and a gift was presented to each volunteer from the club in recognition of their efforts. A short tribute video was also played highlighting the work the volunteers do around the club. Essendon Football Club would again like to take this opportunity to thank it's volunteers for all of their hard work this year - their help is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
Andrew Welsh played 15 games in his debut season and the Essendon fan's were impressed with what they saw of the 19-year-old. The Bomber fan's are expecting a big playing future out of Welsh and assistant coach Mark Harvey shares the same view. ""We have found another really good player in Welsh. The minute he took that mark running back into a pack against Carlton - his first touch in AFL footy - we knew we had something,"" Harvey said.
