Matthew Knights today announced that young forward Jay Neagle will return to the side for the Melbourne clash after not playing since Round 1 this year.

Knights has a number of tall options near goals with Michael Hurley, Scott Gumbleton, David Hille and Paddy Ryder showing some good signs and Mark Williams, Michael Still and Darcy Daniher waiting in the wings. 
 
Last week we asked 'who would you most like to see elevated from the Bombers' rookie list?' and Marcus Marigliani was the fan favourite with over 68% of the vote from Stewart Crameri (12%), Tayte Silverlock (5.7%), Christian Bock (2.96%) and John Williams (2%).
 
Michael Quinn, who was elevated recently, recieved 9% of the vote.

If this is EFC's ode to trying to ostensibly (but ultimately hollow) attempt to be a multicultural/cosmopolitan club - it's falling on deaf ears here. Pick a player on merit & past history - ala Quinn. Michael suits the athletic, speedy running & rugby style possession game EFC have ferociously built up a reputation of having, plus quickly attained since Matthew Knights took over. I hate hype, as it ultimately falls smack on its face - ala Kevin Rudd's rise to PM & savage fall from the ranks. I'd take silky sophisticated skills (MQ) over masquerading muscles (MM) any day.

Gary Walker from NSW says: Marigliani should be elevated to AFL footy urgently, not because he necessarily has been playing well or better than most, but he’s headed for 26 years and has not debuted yet. That alone makes it a priority to see what he’s capable of. I think it a bit unfair to leave someone at that age, untried languishing in Bendigo. If he has some speed, and looks like some handy ‘muscle’ thrown in perhaps what we need at the moment.

Marigliani has worked hard for his current position and for that reason you know he is ready to take his chance.

Mary B from Melbourne says: After watching the Adelaide game there is no way you could say Quinn should be put on the senior list. He was pathetic and beaten nearly every time. IMO Quinn is a good VFL player who will never make it at the highest level. I would pick Crameri over him every day of the week.
