Essendon mourns passing of George Hassell
The Essendon Football Club is saddened by the recent passing of former premiership player George Hassell. George died on Friday 25 May at the age of 88. George played 63 games for the Bombers between 1946 and 1950 and was on the wing in the 1946 premiership win over Melbourne and was a reserve in the 1949 win over Carlton.

George played 63 games for the Bombers between 1946 and 1950 and was on the wing in the 1946 premiership win over Melbourne and was a reserve in the 1949 win over Carlton.
George was part of the golden years at Windy Hill when the Bombers played in the grand final in every season between 1946 and 1951. His team mates included club legends Dick Reynolds, John Coleman and Bill Hutchison.
The club extends its sincere condolences to the Hassell family.
