The Essendon VFL side is into the finals after its hard-fought 11-point victory over North Ballarat yesterday. The Bombers only needed to win to sneak in to the final eight after Port Melbourne and Williamstown were beaten on Saturday. But the Bombers were made to work very hard by North Ballarat which had four more shots at goal than Essendon during the course of the day. Essendon coach Terry Daniher was naturally thrilled with his team's performance. ""They were under a bit of pressure today and they stood up when they had to,"" Daniher said.
