DAVIES GRABS ROOKIE DRAFT LIFELINE
The Essendon list is complete for season 2004 after the Bombers drafted six rookies in this morning's rookie draft. After being delisted at the end of last season, James Davies was given another chance by Essendon. The former number-one draft pick was selected as Essendon's number five rookie selection. 2003 rookie Adrian Wilson was also given another opportunity to prove himself this season when he was selected as the Bombers' sixth and final rookie.

Earlier, former Essendon player Shane Harvey was selected by the Kangaroos at the pre-season draft. Harvey joins his older brother Brent at Arden Street. Persistence has paid off for former Essendon VFL captain Josh Mahoney when he was drafted this morning by Port Adelaide. The 26-year-old has been an outstanding VFL player over the past five years and has finally reaped the rewards of his hardwork.
