Four premiership players are set to make their return from injury for the Bombers against Fremantle at Colonial Stadium this Saturday afternoon. Damien Hardwick, Mark Mercuri, Joe Misiti and Blake Caracella are all fit and available. Hardwick, Misiti and Caracella all trained strongly at Windy Hill this afternoon. Mercuri missed training for personal reasons but is a certain starter. Jonathon Robran, who missed the Adelaide game because of a bruised heel, also trained well and is available for selection.
And it was more good news on the injury front for the Bombers with both Michael Long and Justin Blumfield completing some light running. Blumfield is progressing well after his arthroscope and is expected to be available to play against the Western Bulldogs in round 14. Long is another two weeks away from resuming. Steven Alessio completed an indoor fitness circuit and looks likely to return against the Bulldogs.
Dean Wallis will be tested later this week after leaving the training track early tonight. ""He was just suffering from a little bit of soreness in the hamstring and we didn't want to take any risks with it. We will have another look at him later in the week,"" Essendon football manager Matthew Drain said.
