ANZAC Day services in Melbourne
Yarra Trams is pleased to announce that all current or returned service personnel attending the Dawn Service or ANZAC Day March - either in uniform or wearing their service, discharged service or RSL badge - can travel free.
Free travel will also be available to banner bearers assisting the veterans.
All trams will operate according to the Sunday timetable with first trams as per the weekday timetable until the first scheduled Sunday service.
Football trams - passengers attending the Essendon v Collingwood match at the MCG please note special football trams will depart Flinders Street EAST of Swanston Walk due to the ANZAC Day March between 8.30am and 1.00pm.
Flinders Street - trams on routes 48, 70 and 75 will terminate EAST of Swanston Walk between 8.30am and 1.00pm.
Collins Street - trams on routes 109, 112 will divert via La Trobe Street between 8.30am and 1.00pm. Shuttle trams will operate along Collins Street from Spencer Street to Elizabeth Street and from St Vincent’s Plaza to Russell Street during this time.
Bourke Street - no changes.
La Trobe Street - trams on route 30 do not operate on weekends. Collins Street routes 109 and 112 will be diverted to La Trobe Street between 8.30am and 1.00pm. City Circle trams will not operate on La Trobe Street until after 1.00pm.
Spencer Street - between 8.30am and 1.00pm route 70 (Spencer/La Trobe Streets > Wattle Park) will not operate WEST of Swanston Walk due to the ANZAC Day March. Spencer Street passengers attending the Essendon v Collingwood match at the MCG should take a train from Spencer Street Station direct to Richmond Station.
City Circle - trams will only operate WEST of Swanston Walk between Flinders & Market Streets to Harbour Esplanade & Bourke Street, Docklands until 1.00pm when regular services resume.
