Mark Mercuri's arthroscopic surgery has been completed and the cartilage damage in his right knee repaired. Mercuri injured the knee after taking a mark and landing awkwardly against Richmond last weekend. ""As far as arthroscopes go - this was a pretty simple operation,"" club doctor Ian Reynolds said. ""The whole procedure took about half an hour. We just had to shave the cartilage so it was very minor. He shouldn't have any more problems with it this season."" Mercuri is expected to miss three weeks because of the injury meaning he will return for Essendon's June 8 clash with St Kilda.
