Essendon fans will dominate the opening of Colonial Stadium tonight - a game which is certain to be a sell out.

As of yesterday less than 2000 general admission tickets remained for the match.

With Essendon's membership now nudging 32,000, Colonial Stadium will tonight be a see of red and black.

And all Essendon members who want to go to the game will be able to do so despite the fact there has been some hold ups with ticketing.

The vast majority of members have the membership tickets while those who don't have had tickets for tonight's game express posted to them.

The club believes there is about 200 members who don't fall into either category and they are being contacted by phone.

These members should go to the Ticket Collection marquee at the Bourke Street entrance prior to tonight's match.

Ticketing concerns will be dealt with at that marquee with staff on hand from 5.30pm to help members.

Supporters wondering how to get to the stadium tonight can do one of the following:

TRAIN: Take the train to Spencer Street and use the pedestrain subway of Bourke Street Bridge from there.

TRAM: Trams along La Trobe Street will stop outside the stadium doors every five minutes.

CAR PARKING: Motorists are advised to take public transport to the stadium or be dropped off at the Bourke Street pedestrian Bridge or La Trobe Street.

Tonight's match starts at 8.15pm and the pre-match entertainment will commence at 6.45pm.
