Mal Michael was one of Bendigo’s best players in today’s game against North Ballarat as the Bombers were narrowly defeated in a tight contest at Windy Hill.

When Tom Bellchambers marked strongly and kicked truly moments before the three quarter time siren Bendigo trailed by only four points going into the final term, but North Ballarat eventually ran out winners by 13 points.

The contest proved Bendigo had come a long way since the 52 point loss to the Roosters in Round 2 and were now able to mix it with the best sides in the competition.

Damien Peverill was also good again and Danny Chartres continued his outstanding season with Bendigo.

North Ballarat defeated Bendigo 18.4.(112) to 14.15.(99).
