Damian Cupido will play for the Bendigo Bombers tomorrow when they take on Werribee at Queen Elizabeth Oval. Cupido has been sidelined for the past month with swelling on top of his kneecap. Football manager Dominic Cato said that Cupido is fully recovered and is just lacking match fitness at this point in time.

""We are hoping he can develop some match fitness in the reserves. He has hardly played all season, so he is not match hardened,"" Cato said. ""We have no doubt that he can return to the seniors in the coming weeks and make an impact with a few good games under his belt for Bendigo.

Cupido provided another avenue for goal last year for the Bombers. He booted 39 goals in his first season at the club. ""There is no doubt that we have missed Cupido up forward this season. He is an exciting player and when on-song can turn a game off his own boot,"" Cato said.

Ricky Dyson returns to the VFL after playing against West Coast last week. Dyson has been named in the middle alongside ruckman Jason Laycock and in-form vice captain Jordan Doering. Mark Mercuri will play his second game after returning from a knee injury last week. Similar to Cupido, the hit-out will do him the world of good.

Bendigo is still in eighth position despite losing their past three games. To keep their finals’ hopes alive they need a win tomorrow against Werribee. The game kicks off at 1.30pm at Queen Elizabeth Oval, Bendigo, if you want to cheer the team on.
