Bendigo’s miserable season continued today with a 112-point loss to the Sandringham Dragons at the Trevor Barker Beach Oval. The Bombers’ failed to kick a goal in the first half and whilst they showed fight and lifted their pressure late in the game; the score line did the talking.

The highlights from the day were the form of Brent Prismall and the return to football of Andrew Welsh from a serious pre-season ankle injury.
Welsh showed encouraging signs and got through 60 minutes of the game unscathed.
Jay Nash suffered a shoulder injury and is expected to miss a few weeks.
The Bombers’ were beaten 20.16 (136) to 3. 6 (24).
Essendon rookie, Thomas German was the Bombers’ best player for the day gathering countless possessions and 15 tackles. Darcy Daniher also played a vital defensive role for Bendigo - despite the difference in the score line, he never gave up.
Brent Prismall edges closes to a senior berth after playing a full game in the midfield and gathering 30 possessions. His awareness, hard running and use of the ball was on show in today’s game.
