Tom German is enjoying life as a Bomber after being selected with Essendon’s pick 21 in the rookie draft last Tuesday. The 177cm midfielder began light training at Windy Hill before Christmas and is finding the transition into life as an AFL footballer enjoyable.

“Essendon is a great club to be at. I just live up the road from the club so it is nice and close,” German said.

“I am really looking forward to playing with the guys, particularly alongside the likes of Andrew Welsh and Matthew Lloyd.”

Essendon list manager Adrian Dodoro describes German as a natural ball winner who uses the ball well and has good speed and endurance.
