The winner of the 2001 James Hird Footy Tipping competition could still be well concealed at the halfway mark of the 2001 season. Shaun Searle and Eileen Rykers lead the way with 66 winners to this stage of the season but the chasing pack is large and well and truly within striking distance. Five tipsters are just one winner off the lead and no less than 838 tipsters are within 10 of the lead. Round 11 was a difficult one with only two tipsters finding all eight winners - 40 tipsters found seven winners while 110 correctly tipped six games.
