The official post-2000 season trade period ended today, with Essendon making only one trade. Michael Prior is heading back to his home state in WA, as he was traded to the Eagles.

Michael Prior, who played well when given the chance this season, found it tough to break into the Bombers' best 21 towards the end of the year. He was traded for draft selection number 27.

It was the only trade Essendon made, and the club was happy to retain the services of its premiership players.
