Speaking exclusively on Bomber TV, Essendon premiership player, Adam Ramanauskas, said he is ""very close"" to regaining the level of fitness and awareness required to make his much-anticipated return to senior football..
Ramanauskas gathered 32 possessions for the Bendigo Bombers on Monday and was best-on-ground - it was clearly his best performance since returning to football following his battle with cancer.
""As the weeks go by I am feeling better and better,"" he said on Bomber.tv.
""I am recovering quicker from games and, with a better fitness base, I am able to get to more contests on the oval.
""I have a small goal to play for Essendon this year but my main goal is still just to be healthy.""
An Essendon player needs to be on the long-term injury list to allow Ramanauskas to be elevated to the senior list and therefore be eligible for selection. Jay Neagle is currently on the long-term injury list but he is nearing a return after overcoming stress fractures in his lower leg.
Ramanauskas said he is enjoying playing footy with Bendigo and names some of the exciting talent that he thinks should have Bomber supporters confident of a bright future.
