AFL Chief Executive Officer Wayne Jackson today presented Essendon coach Kevin Sheedy with his All-Australian jumper and commemorative plaque in recognition of his achievement in being the 2000 All-Australian coach.
The premiership coach is automatically named as All-Australian coach. It was the fourth time Sheedy had been named All Australian coach.
The All Australian team was selected for the first time in 1950. It wasn't until 1979 when the first All Australian coach was named and that was Barry Cable.
Sheedy was first named an All Australian coach in 1984. He was susequently given the honor in 1985 and 1993.
