Essendon coach Kevin Sheedy joins an elite group this weekend when he coaches his 500th game against the Brisbane Lions. Only five other coaches have achieved this milestone in the history of the game - Alan Jeans, Tom Hafey, Ron Barassi, Jock McHale and David Parkins. Since being appointed Essendon coach on 2 October 1980, Sheedy has coached 180 players and 55 premiership players.He has won four day premierships – 1984, 1985, 1993 and 2000 and six night premierships. Sheedy is an Essendon Football Club and AFL Life member and coached Essendon to a record 20 game consecutive winning streak in 2000.
