Ricky Dyson and Angus Monfries will be looking to reclaim their place in the senior line-up this Friday night after recording sensational individual performances in the Bendigo Bomber’s 96-point victory over Tasmania on the weekend.

“It was great to see Ricky put in a very solid performance on the weekend,” Bendigo coach Matthew Knights said.

“I think he set up at least four goals and it was really pleasing to see him use the ball so well.

“Angus was also very consistent. He kicked three goals but I guess we were more impressed with his ability to win the ball and his clean disposal.”

The Bombers dominated for the majority of the match with Tom Hislop, Heath Hocking and Danny Chartres all making strong contributions to Bendigo’s significant win.

However, Scott Gumbleton was the surprise package of the afternoon, kicking three in his return to the VFL after overcoming a hamstring injury.

“We only played Scott for about 60 minutes due to him missing six to seven weeks of footy but I was really pleased with the way he was able to find the ball,” Knights said.

“I think Scott was very happy that he was able to get through the game okay and we will be looking forward to gradually building up his game-time in the upcoming weeks.”
