Shaun Searle has gone to the outright lead in the James Hird Footy Tipping competition after selecting seven winners last weekend. Searle has 57 winners, one ahead of Belinda Sydes who also tipped seven winners. Eleven tipsters are tied in equal third place on 55. Of the 4027 entrants in the competition, 68 tipsters found the eight winners last weekend - 524 people tipped seven winners and 823 tipped six winners. Rita Sharrock was the weekly prize winner. The three toughest games this weekend appear to be Western Bulldogs v Kangaroos, Hawthorn v Port Adelaide and Fremantle v Richmond.
