Essendon’s preparation for the battle against the DEC Bushrangers on Wednesday is well under way, with both Jobe Watson and Angus Monfries in full practice on the weekend.

Together, Watson and Monfries opened the batting in a domestic cricket match on the weekend in a bid to fine tune their skills before Wednesday’s clash.

Despite Monfries recording a measly one run for the day, Watson impressed all with a remarkable 107 runs, a hat trick and took a total of six wickets.

“The most enjoyable part of the day was opening the battling with Angus and watching him getting bowled out for one. Everyone else made runs except him,” Jobe said.
