Essendon Football Club today confirmed the results of the recent board election. Chairman Ray Horsburgh was re-elected along with Kevin Egan. The pair have been joined by first-time board member Jo-Anne Albert. Alec Epis missed out on re-election as did first-time candidate Rachel Hankinson.

“I would like to congratulate Jo-Anne on her election to the board of the Essendon Football Club. It is a position of great responsibility and I am sure she will bring a wealth of knowledge and support to the table,” Essendon chairman Ray Horsburgh said.

Jo-Anne Albert holds a Bachelor of Business degree and post graduate qualifications in the financial services sector. She has run a financial advisory practice is an experienced company director both in corporate and community roles.

Her involvement at Essendon Football Club includes being a founding member of the Essendon Women’s Network, a member of the Dick Reynolds Club, a player sponsor and life time member and supporter of the Club.

“I would also like to thank Alec Epis for the role he has played on the board over such a long period of time. Alec has given more than 50-years of his life to this Club – a fact we recognised on Crichton Medal night. I know how much this Club means to him and on behalf of the board and the members I thank him for his service.”

The new Essendon board will be officially recognised at the upcoming Annual General Meeting to be held at the Moonee Ponds Clocktower Centre on Tuesday December 16th from 7pm.
