THE Essendon Football Club is pleased to announce that Dean Bailey has been appointed as the club's new development coach for the coming season.

Dean played 52 games with Essendon between 1986 and 1992. He won the reserves best and fairest with the Glenelg Football Club in 1995.

For the past two years Dean has coached Mt Gravatt in the QAFL, taking the side to third place in 1999.

Professionally Dean has been an account manager with Franklins, Queensland for the past three years. Prior to that position he was Pacific Islands Manager for Pauls.

Dean has an extremely strong background in football and he was very keen to return to Essendon and take up this important role as part of the coaching panel.

The club believes Dean has the right attributes to make a major contribution towards the development of its players in the coming season. He will officially commence duties in four weeks time.

THE club also announced today that it had de-listed Michael Symons.

Michael joined the club in 1993 and played 109 games in that time and kicked 80 goals. The club wishes him all the best in his future endeavours.
