As was pledged by the club when members voted on the move to Colonial Stadium a little over 18 months ago, 7000 Premium C seats have been available to Essendon members free of charge. The only cost incurred on these seats will be the Ticketmaster booking fee.
The club acquired these seats from the stadium operators to make them free for Essendon members who didn’t purchase an annual reserved seat with their membership.
Members without reserved seats have priority access to these free seats in the period starting two weeks before each home game until noon on the Tuesday prior to the match.
From noon on the Tuesday prior to the match, these tickets will also be made available to the general public. Should any tickets be left on match day, they will be available at the ground as walk-ups.
Essendon members will still be able to purchase the seats free of charge on that day while non-members and others will have to pay the general admission price.
These Premium C seats can be accessed during the priority period by calling Ticketmaster on 136122. All you need is your membership card and credit card and you can purchase these seats. Members can purchase one seat per membership ticket. Once again, the only cost incurred will be Ticketmaster’s booking fee.
“We strongly suggest that members wishing to access these free seats do so during the priority access period during the season to ensure they don’t miss out,” Essendon Chief Executive Peter Jackson said today.
“I think it will be particularly important for them to make the most of this priority period in the lead up to the first game. Given it is such an historic occasion it could easily be sold out – the best way to ensure you don’t miss out is to book a seat”.
Jackson said the club was pleased to be able to offer these seats to members.
“The fact we can do this is one of the reasons we firmly believe we have negotiated the best deal possible for Essendon members at Colonial Stadium,” he said.
“From day one we promised Essendon members that 12,000 free seats would be available at Colonial. Along with the other 5000 general admission seats, that is exactly what we have delivered.”
