Essendon’s general manager of football operations Paul Hamilton said that the match will be a good chance for the trio to continue their preparation for the home-and-away season.
“The three of them have had good pre-seasons and this match will compliment that.""
Lovett-Murray and McVeigh were both suspended after the First Elimination Final against Adelaide last year. Hamilton said the practice match will help McVeigh finalise his preparations for his return to AFL next week.
“McVeigh will be aiming to play for Essendon next week against Fremantle and by playing his third pre-season game on Saturday he will be well prepare for senior action.
“For the other two players it’s about keeping up their preparation for when they are available.""
Lovett-Murray will be available to return in Round 3 after being reprimanded for rough conduct. Hurley is facing a three match, club imposed ban for an off-field incident and will be available to return to the AFL in Round 4.
