Just when you thought the Bombers’ season couldn’t get any more dramatic, Essendon has today drawn with Carlton at the MCG. Despite leading by 20 points nine minutes into the final quarter, the Bombers let the Blues back into the match by kicking four of the final five goals. It was as a disappointing as a loss to the club, who still sit in bottom position on the AFL ladder.
Essendon has made three changes to its line up on Saturday afternoon to take on archenemy Carlton at the MCG. Angus Monfries, Henry Slattery and Patrick Ryder all return to the side from injury, while Sam Lonergan and Ben Jolley have been omitted. Adam McPhee will miss the game due to a one week suspension.
